Ingredients

The ingredients of the 4 different soap bases

  • Cretan-Garden homemade organic extract from Cretan olive oil and Cretan dry herbs, the same as used in the soap, but without essential oil.
  • Potassium hydroxide
  • Demineralised water

The 4 different concentrates

  • There are 4 different liquid soap bases. The base is the same as the base of the Cretan-Garden soap but without the related essential oil, and instead of sodium hydroxide, that is used to make a hard soap bar, potassium hydroxide is used to make a soft paste.

  • It is possible but not necessary to add some drops of the essential oil that fits with the concentrate of your choice can be added after it is mixed with water. The total of drops is related with the volume of the dispenser, and your own preferences:
  • It is excellent for your skin health to create your own skin conditioner, for after washing and drying: a composition of olive oil and the essential oil that fits with the base of the liquid soap, using a ratio of 15 drops of essential oil on 150 ml olive oil.
How to make liquid soap from the concentrate?
  • Ratio of soap base and water: 1:4 or 1:5
    Example: to make 250 ml of liquid soap you need:
    50 grams of soap base and 250 grams of water
  • Heat the water in a saucepan and add the soap base. Stir the soap base and water, remove the pan from the stove and let everything work for a while. If the liquid is too thick, add another 20–40 grams of water, heat it up a little and remove from the stove.
  • Note: Hot water also evaporates! Make the liquid as thick or thin as you like.
  • You can also add essential oil. Decide for yourself how many drops you find pleasant. Proposal: start with 5 drops per 250 ml of liquid soap.
  • Attention: because the liquid soap base is made from an olive oil product, the liquid soap is less liquid in a cold room. This means that you use a different ratio in the winter period than in a hot summer.
  • Video: the result of 50 grams soap base, in total 250 ml liquid soap. It is almost odorless, and in case wanted you can add some drops essential oil related with the soap base (lavender, oregano, rosemary or sage)
